The first time we played Reading and Leeds festival was 2006, opening Mike Davis' Lock Up stage.

We were a last minute replacement, I think Paramore pulled out, but we found ourselves in a situation that was a genuine dream come true. The first show was at Reading - the festival we all grew up going to - and it was nerve wracking stuff!

Being first on, we were line checking right before our set and I remember seeing a very empty tent, save for the fifty or so of our mates laughing at how nervous we looked. But come high noon when took to the stage and kicked off the day the tent was packed to the back.

The whole set is blur now, it seemed to pass in an instant. Afterwards I spent most the day watching some of my all time heroes playing the same stage my band had earlier in the day, oh and I took a piss next to Sick Of It All's Lou Koller!
