The first time we played Reading Festival was a crazy experience.

I had just spent two months in hospital recovering from the removal of an abcess in my throat, the last thing I was prepared for was playing a festival of this magnitude. We were the opening band on the Concrete Jungle stage and we were a bundle of nerves and anxiety. Reading Festival was a big deal.

I remember all the friends we had in bands that were playing the same day as us hanging around and having a laugh. I remember the feeling of seeing all those people rushing into the tent to see us play; it was crazy. Having our friends in Boysetsfire watch while we played just affirmed a lot of things for me. Here we were, playing to packed tent with our friends looking on. It was a vindication; what we were doing was affecting people even at this early stage. It's a strong memory and probably one of my fondest of our many appearances at the festival.
