Lavotchkin Tour Diary Day Twelve: Nottingham
More Lavotchkin tour antics on their Rock Sound blog.

We woke up in our mate's house in Boston not Boston this morning and as usual we got ourselves sorted out before heading out for some breakfast. After that we dropped Gibbo off and headed to our next stop which was Nottingham. Pretty excited as the show tonight was at Nottingham Rock City and we'd always been told good things by other bands about it.

So we got to the venue and I've gotta say Rock City looked after us amazingly. A dressing room filled with free booze and water as well as tickets for free meals at the venue bar. I won't lie, we could easily get used to this treatment! Massively grateful. On top of that the sound in the venue was really good, the stage was a good size and the room was pretty busy. Thumbs up Rock City. The show went real well, though afterwards you could tell tour was catching up on everyone.

After the show we realised our van had been fully blocked in, so although tired we had no choice but to get some partying done upstairs in the club. Bit of dancing to Lady Gaga and dirty dubstep later an opportunity came up to get our van out. By this time it was 2.00am so we figured we best get the van out while the chance was there as we still had an hour's drive to Barnsley where we were staying.

We said our goodbyes and began our journey. Long story cut massively short, we got to our good friend / resident Lavotchkin recorder Jason Sandersons house around 3:30am. Between then and 6.00am our Hub and Ben had the longest play fight/ flirting session I've ever witnessed. Chairs were broken, toilet brushes inserted in mouths, biting, punching, hair pulling, hitting with bottles, head butting and a general lot of falling over. Out of hand doesn't begin to describe it, though as bad as it sounds there was love between the two the whole time. Just in a Punch and Judy sorta way. Bed round 6.00am and Milton Keynes next, then we get to go home to our beds for a night before doing the northern dates of the tour.
Keeping the van stereo alive today was Fucked Up, Pantera, Dillinger Four, Sick Of It All and Every Time I Die.
