Kill Hannah Tour Blog: Highs And Lows So Far
Kill Hannah trek round Europe and blog for Rock Sound
Blog
Pretty much exactly what the title says...a rundown of the highs and lows of our tour so far!
Helsinki Highlights
Dan (guitar): "Salty licorice, re-uniting with our friends in My Passion, sunlight until 9pm."
Greg (bass): "Playing our first show of our European tour. Going to a Finnish dance club in a mall and hearing Ke$ha. Realising most people don't know how to DANce."
Maddox (guitar): "Excellent crowd to start off the tour with, great venue/singing karoake for the first time ever…finding out the bunks on the bus are a lot longer than usual."
Mat (vocals): "Espresso machine in bus. Karaoke to White Wedding."
Helsinki Lowlights
Dan (guitar): "Salty licorice…more wind than Chicago."
Greg (bass): "Jetlag and only sleeping three hours."
Maddox (guitar): "Singing karoake for the first time ever..I swore I'd never do it.
Mat (vocals): "Salmiakki liquor...tastes like gasoline and black jelly beans."
Stockholm Highlights
Dan (guitar): "Getting to see the best looking people in the world. A 15 hour ferry ride complete with late night Euro-pop karaoke."
Greg (bass): "One of my favorite cities in the world. Doing interview at Bandit radio. Mocha gelato in old town."
Maddox (guitar): "Awesome ferry ride overnite from Finland. Huge buffet of Swedish breakfast, very high energy show, meeting a lot of beautiful fans."
Mat (vocals): "Walking around town singing Easy Lover by Phil Collins, playing Truth or Dare at 6.00am with College kids, drinking wine by the boats."
Stockholm Lowlights
Dan (guitar): "Being in a new different country for one day and not understanding or having any Kroner. Not much else, Stockholm is the best."
Greg (bass): "Only having forty minutes to walk around the city."
Maddox (guitar): "The fifty or so ten year old boys screaming at all hours of the morning on the ferry."
Mat (vocals): "Stage 5 Clinger that followed us everywhere singing You're So Vane by Carly Simon."
Oslo Highlights
Dan (guitar): "First show in a new country in about four years. Meeting the Norway KHK for the first time: the local mascot is an ugly little troll waving a flag."
Greg (bass): "Talking about Stryper with Norwegian show promoter."
Maddox (guitar): "Gifts from the Norway KHK, shopping and exploring the city. Bonding with the promoter over Stryper and TNT after the show."
Mat (vocals): "Learning that the word for 'hangover' is fylleangst, and translates literally as 'after drinking anxiety'."
Oslo Lowlights
Dan (guitar): "Almost being stopped at the border due to some obscure tax law that won't let musicians bring instruments into the country: different country - different Kroner."
Greg (bass): "New currency."
Maddox (guitar): "Being woken up by a very large border patrol officer going through my stuff, not fun. Finding out how expensive it is to get a hole poked in my face."
Mat (vocals): "Caramelized goat cheese, local delicacy. Tastes like ear wax."
Gothenburg Highlights
Dan (guitar): "Strange, traditional Swedish meal not sure if I was eating soup, stew, or gravy."
Greg (bass): "Seeing Kill Hannah posters all over the city. Stage monitors for the show. Seeing Daniel our old sound guy."
Maddox (guitar): "Switching up the setlist a little, relearning an oldie 'Don't Die Wondering'."
Mat (vocals): "Playing with the blood sausage they gave us at catering."
Gothenburg Lowlights
Dan (guitar): "Getting shocked onstage between my guitar and microphone. Nothing kills the mood more than feeling like you've stuck your tongue in an electrical outlet."
Greg (bass): "Rain for the majority of the day."
Maddox (guitar): "Sleeping all day, not seeing much of the city."
Mat (vocals): "Being screamed at by some Swedish dude in his car as I was crossing the street, not my fault, the Swedish cars are almost silent and sound like hair driers."
Copenhagen Highlights
Dan (guitar): "Amazing crowd including onstage dancers and stage diving."
Greg (bass): "Hot girls dressed well on bicycles, my kind of town! Awesome falafel at 2am."
Maddox (guitar): "Crazy crowd at the show and meeting up with old friends there. The chicken wrap and the hot dog across the street from the venue."
Mat (vocals): "Girls in short skirts riding bicycles everywhere, the show was a complete riot."
Copenhagen Lowlights
Dan (guitar): "Thieves in the street playing three card monty: our favorite Copenhagen bar still allows smoking so it's still impossible to breathe inside it."
Greg (bass): "Shitty indian food."
Maddox (guitar): "My sunglasses falling apart after two hours of buying them."
Mat (vocals): "Ordering liver by accident at a restaurant."
