Is Rock Sound Keeping Nu Metal Alive?

I was trawling the interweb this morning, as one does, and I was shocked to find that quite a few nightmares from yesteryear have not hung up their spurs. In fact, far from it. Some of the dodgiest nu metal bands are still together and releasing new material, and I fear it could all be Rock Sound's fault. Here is a dossier that will send chills down your spine:

Offender 1: Taproot

This lot have a new album coming out this year...I fear gaining 66th place in Rock Sound's best albums of 2005 might have encouraged them too much to soldier on despite being dropped by their label and most of their fans.

Offender 2: Mushroomhead

Not only are these Slipknot copycats still peddling this toss they are winning awards for it. According to MTV viewers this was the best video on Headbangers Ball in 2007. Again, is this due to Darren Taylor championing the band at the beginnings of their career? I don't know how he can sleep at night.

Offender 3: Crazy Town

Bad news people, the band are planning to relaunch in 2008 with their third record. The rapper dude without the tatts has also got a solo record out...like right now. Did you miss them? We didn't either and this one is very hard to blame on us. We stopped covering them not long after we stopped writing about Fun Lovin Criminals and Kid Rock (don't ask, you lot had well dodgy taste back then).
