Download: Day One

Jen and Faye here, we're nabbing the internet while we can – it's been a struggle (various power surges, lack of desk space... you know the score) but we're finally here!

Jen and Faye here, we're nabbing the internet while we can – it's been a struggle (various power surges, lack of desk space... you know the score) but we're finally here!

So, it's day two of Download festival and we haven't been able to write about day one yet, we'll give that a go now.

We're experiencing the best of both worlds in the Rock Sound team. Jen is hoteling it up, Faye is roughing it but she looks surprisingly refreshed (as long as you don't take her sunglasses away from her face).

It was a weird one yesterday, the only bands we managed to see were Limp Bizkit (alright partner...) and Faith No More, both were AMAZING. The crowd's reaction to Limp Bizkit was possibly more amazing than the Durster himself.

Here's Sub Ed Jen and Events Coordinator Chloe getting down to 'Rollin'':

So, what else went down? We interviewed an unmasked Hollywood Undead, Billy Talent, Killswitch Engage, BMTH, In This Moment, Steadlur, Dir en grey, Lacuna Coil... probably many others. Keep checking back to the site for videos.

Here's Hollywood Undead being interviewed by Jen:

On the camping front, Fei Comodo, Lex from Devil Sold His Soul, Hexes, Serpico and My Passion are all frequently doing the rounds (and kindly helped Faye put up her tent... blondes!). It was a pretty quiet first night, it was all going down in the village, but there was some extremely drunken air guitar.

To round it up before the internet cuts out AGAIN, Faye has made friends with the Download Dog, Jen spotted an arse pyramid and there's been time for a few high-fives with Steadlur.

Until next time...
