Dear Mr. Claus,

I have been away from home for several months working super hard on some new songs. Back at home my family has been going through some really trying times, especially my Mom who I love more than anything in the world. She is the rock that we all depend on.

Christmas is her favorite time of year. My sister and I both come home to Jacksonville in Florida where we grew up, and the whole family is together. For me that's Mom, Dad, Sister, three Aunts, an Uncle, Mee Maw, Papa, six cousins, one cousin's wife, and the newest addition, their baby boy.

All I want for Christmas is for my Mom to be happy. I want her house to be full of smiles and love as we all come together for the holiday. So if there's any way you can help make sure we all get there safe and sound, I can't really ask for more than that.

PS In 1988 I know that it wasn't your fault I didn't get the GI Joe aircraft carrier. It had been discontinued. The space station was an epic substitution.
