The new track was co-written by AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, who gifted lyrics to the band via a mutual friend after the legendary frontman heard their music.

Realising they didn’t want to squander such an opportunity, Himalayas got to work in putting a song together comprised of his lyrics.

Brian has shared some further words about the process of the track coming together and why he gave them the lyrics, saying:

“When I was played their recordings, I immediately thought they were the perfect band for the song; the attack they bring to V.O.V is musical violence, brilliant!!”

Explaining a bit more about the track’s substance, meanwhile, he four-piece band have added:

“V.O.V is a song of resistance and struggle against violence and suffering. We wanted to talk of contrasting worlds and how the cracks between them are so readily paved over.

“Brian was really complimentary of our music and what we had achieved so far, something we were really grateful for.”

Himalayas recently announced they’ll be supporting Taking Back Sunday at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum on March 27, and at Cardiff’s University Great Hall on March 28 – tickets for which you can buy here.

If that isn’t enough impressive news from their camp, they’ll also be one of the opening acts for Foo Fighters on June 25 at the Principality Stadium, in their hometown of Cardiff.
